Isle of Wight Maps and Orientation

(Isle of Wight, England, UK)

Close to the Southampton harbour, Portsmouth and the New Forest National Park, the Isle of Wight is easy to reach, being connected by regular car ferries and high-speed passenger-only catamarans. The Isle of Wight is a relatively small island, although you should certainly consider bringing your car, since the main attractions and beaches are spread around the coast.

The diamond-shaped Isle of Wight is categorised as both an island and county, and is separated from the south coast by the Solent. Much of the western side of the island has been designated as an 'Area of Outstanding Beauty' and is fairly rural in its appearance.
