The Isle of Wight features many excellent places for dining and more recently the Isle of Wight has expanded its variety of cuisine and now has an extensive selection of restaurants, serving a range of English and continental food. These Isle of Wight eateries range from basic snack bars and coffee shops, to high-class restaurants and gourmet haunts.
Newport, Cowes, Ryde and Bembridge have some of the best cafés, coffee shops, bistros, public houses and restaurants on the Isle of Wight, often with great views of the island and coastline. In particular, the area around Union Street in the town of Ryde offers some of the best restaurants and eating opportunities on the Isle of Wight, with appealing and sophisticated restaurants, serving good meat and fish dishes. Also, on the Esplanade, a seafood restaurant offers fresh fish dishes and tasty sandwiches.
Many tourists and visitors to the Isle of Wight find it hard to resist the numerous tea shops and public houses, which serve popular cream teas throughout the year. Also, a number of cafés and tea shops in the centre of the Isle of Wight have seating areas on the wide pavements outside.

Isle of Wight restaurants range from fairly inexpensive bar food to the most luxurious food, in gourmet restaurants.
